Look, I am Reading – 1

Description

Big and bold letters are used in this book as children’s eye muscles are still developing and reading is made enjoyable only with words that are familiar to children.
Words and pictures used in this book are familiar to small children as reading has meaning only if children can comprehend what they read. Effort must be made to see that children enjoy reading.
The reader begins with two letter words and slowly progresses into bigger words. Emphasis is made on the phonetic method of teaching reading.

Simple sentences used make it easy for little children to enjoy and learn to read.

a. Look and say method
e.g. The child looks at the word recognises its shape and says the word aloud.
Or
b. Spell and say method
e.g. The child spells the word alphabetically not phonetically and then says the word aloud.
